Our verdict: Cluely is worth evaluating for general meeting answers and notes. Interview candidates should decide whether they need a meeting assistant, dedicated practice, or the higher-priced privacy tier before comparing costs.

Consider another approach if: Your main requirement is structured mock practice, occasional paid minutes, or a small one-time purchase.

The useful comparison is between the tiers you would actually use. Comparing another tool's privacy-enabled plan with ordinary Cluely Pro understates Cluely's price for that requirement. Conversely, someone who only wants notes should not assume the most expensive tier is necessary.
Is Cluely free?
Yes. Starter gives you a way to evaluate the assistant without subscribing. Its limits mean it should not be treated as unlimited paid access.
Use Starter to check three things: whether answers stay relevant to your questions, whether the notes capture decisions accurately, and whether your own instructions improve the output. A free test on your actual computer is more informative than a broad claim that an assistant works for everyone.
Do not buy an annual plan simply to investigate whether the basic workflow suits you. First establish how often you would use it and which feature would make the upgrade worthwhile.
What Cluely does
Cluely's product site presents it as a real-time meeting assistant, not only an interview tool. It provides answer suggestions during calls and meeting notes afterward.
Its individual plan comparison lists custom instructions, file context, keyboard controls, and the ability to ask about previous meetings. Pro expands response, note-taking, and file allowances. These are published product capabilities; they do not establish how well the assistant will answer your particular interview questions.
For technical work, judge the explanation rather than the presence of a code block. A useful assistant should help you understand assumptions, edge cases, and trade-offs. We have not benchmarked Cluely's code or response quality.
Meeting assistance versus interview practice
A live assistant and a mock interviewer solve different problems. One suggests information during a conversation; the other creates practice questions and feedback before it. Cluely's individual pricing table does not list a dedicated mock-interview workflow.
If preparation is your main need, compare a dedicated AI mock interview workflow before choosing solely on the monthly price.
Screen-share invisibility: check the tier and setup
The pricing table places this feature in Pro + Undetectability, rather than Starter or ordinary Pro. That is a meaningful purchasing distinction.
The vendor's description is not an independent guarantee across every operating system, recording method, or meeting platform. Before relying on it, check the supported application and sharing mode. We did not perform that test.
Refunds and privacy
Cluely's refund policy describes a 24-hour request window with video evidence that the software does not work. It excludes dissatisfaction about detection by screen-sharing software and slow solution generation. Read those conditions before buying the privacy tier.
The privacy policy states that Cluely does not sell or train on your data and describes handling recordings, transcripts, screenshots, and third-party services. Confirm the settings and terms for the plan you select rather than assuming that a marketing description settles every data-handling question.
Cluely's strengths and trade-offs
